  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How far away is grocery shopping, medical access, internet, etc.?
A: Convenience stores are close by. Larger shopping areas are in the adjacent town of Epping, NH. There is no broadband or phone line at the cabin, although if you have a cell phone and laptop - you may be able to make your internet connection in that fashion.

Q: Exactly where is Kennard Hill Cabin?
A: It is basically a mile from Pawtuckaway Lake on the East side. We will provide precise driving directions after you make your reservation.

Q: Is there cell phone access in this location?
A: Yes! A cell phone tower happens to be within in the vicinity allowing for very strong signal strength.

Q: Is smoking allowed on the premiss?
A: Yes, outside and on the porch.

Q: Can we bring our dogs?
A: Yes, we are pet friendly and usually accept pets. Let us know what pets you are considering so we can make a decision. You are of course responsible for their actions.

Q: Do we need a 4x4 to get to your cabin?
A: If you have access to a four wheel drive, I would suggest using it. If not, a high ground clearance vehicle is recommended. The access road is only lightly maintained. A low slung sedan would have difficulty accessing the cabin. You may attempt to navigate the jeep/access road with your sedan "at your own risk".

Q: Is there hunting allowed on the premiss?
A: Hunting is allowed on the land during NH recognized seasons with a recognized NH hunting license. Hunting is also allowed on much of the surrounding area.

Q: Are you allowed to fish?
A: Fishing is allowed a short distance at Pawtuckaway Lake. A recognized NH state fishing license is required. There is also a good size bass swamp on the property.

    Q: Are advance reservations neccessary?
A: It is highly recommended. But if you are traveling on short notice - feel free to give a call and it may be possible to accommodate you depending on availability. 603-234-2801 or 679-8243

Q: Is the cabin handicap accessable?
A: Unfortunately the cabin is not wheelchair accessible at this time.

    Q: Are motorcycles allowed?
A: Yes, but be aware that there are unpaved roads to our location.

Q: How secluded is the cabin?
    A: Very.

Q: Do you have a brochure that is available?
A: We do not have a brochure at this time. All our information is available on this website at this time. But please request the free postcard as a way to keep us in mind!

Q: Why do you have to be 21 to stay at your cabins?
A: We have set that age requirement because of our liability insurance.

Q: Does everyone in the group have to be 21 or just the person getting the cabin?
A: Everyone in the cabin must be 21, or must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q: Does the cabin have a firepit outside? If so, is the wood provided or do we bring our own?
A: There is a fire pit outside the cabin. Generally there is an ample wood pile available. You may want to bring extra to be sure.

Q: Are the kitchens in the cabins stocked with dishes and utensils, or do we have to bring our own?
A: All of your cookware, utensils, are provided. You need to bring your own food and toiletries.
