Our stay at this historic B&B was unforgettable. We've been charmed by this place full of suprises and discoveries. Our host was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the fireplace in the room and the exquisite breakfasts we've had. We'll come back there for sure!
What a geat way to celebrate new years! We had 12 people up for an unforgetable new years experience. From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The fireplaces were already going and the house was very cozy but that didn't slow us down. The loud music was encouraged! Breakfast was delicious.. from the "spirits" and ghost stories, gambling room, beer pong, and the jacuzzi I couldn't have asked for a better time. Rick thanks again. Well be in touch for sure!! Say hi to oscar the dog we all miss him! can't wait for our next trip with our dog!
A five star experience, celebrating my daughter’s birthday. She came up with 6 of her friends and we had the house to ourselves. With the hype of the hauntings, it was fun watching the ladies choose one of the rooms, all with old time charm. The kitchen allowed us plenty of space to cook the lunch, dinner and breakfast that we had planned. The innkeeper, Rick, was right behind us cleaning up and making sure we had everything we needed, including lighting the many fireplaces that kept us toasty warm and added to the ambiance of the house. We did have a paranormal experience so know what the books are talking about. Definitely a wonderful, memorable birthday present and would recommend this place to everyone.
Might it be a girl’s weekend (such as ours), a couple’s get away or just a different type of place to go, Hibbard house has it all. I recently stayed for a long weekend at the house with 6 of my girlfriends and my Mother for my birthday. We had SUCH an amazing time and made a lifetime of memories for all. From the moment we arrived we relaxed, ate, drank and ate some more :) Although the house is located "way out there" there is everything you need only 3 miles down the road so you get the best of both worlds. The inn keeper Rick stayed with us (upon our request, not required) and he made our stay just that much more perfect. We had fire in every room when any of us were in that room, even if it was multiple rooms, so we were surely never cold and I am always cold... If we had questions he had the answers, if we needed anything, he was right there to help. And we never really knew he was even there until we went looking for him; he was just the right amount of being there. The house is very well kept up, it has everything you need to comfortably house 8-10 people short or long term and if you like to cook and eat, this place allows for that around the clock, for we literally cooked and ate the whole time we were there :) Although the house is known for haunted activities, I wouldn’t use that word... The house is active with many energies that live there and they are all positive, happy, good energies and they enjoyed our presence and energy just as much as we enjoyed theirs. We were never once scared or felt uneasy, we felt adventurous and inquisitive and most important happy. This house was a great find and we look forward to many more trips there. :)
What a great place! Me and my wife and our Siberian Husky, Ruby, stayed here this weekend and had a blast! Everything in the description was as it said it was and much more. Innkeeper Rick greeted us as soon as we arrived and helped us out immensely with things to do and places to see. It was a great opportunity to spend our weekend both relaxing at the Hibbard House and hiking in the White Mountains. I don't think you'll find a better value anywhere else in the White Mountain area. The Hibbard Room was very spacious with a queen sized bed, fireplace, and private bath. Rick prepared a phenomenal breakast each morning to our liking before we set off on our adventure for the day. The community of Bath is very small and quite, but that is what we wanted. Everything we wanted to do was within a 30 minute drive, which was perfect because the scenery is so beautiful up there! Highly recommend Kagamanguus Drive through the mountains, what a sight! Can't wait to get back again in the near future, thanks again Rick for a great weekend! Also, highly recommended for visitors with pets, it can be frustrating traveling with our dog, but the Hibbard House is very pet friendly.
This really is a fantastic Bed and Breakfast. Hibbard House is an old 1830’s house with so much character and charm. We were also greeted with a very warm welcome. We found this place purely by chance whilst a friend and I were on a road trip through New Hampshire during the fall. We found out about it when we stopped at a convenience store in Bath (apparently the oldest in America!) and asked if there was somewhere close by to sleep. We pulled up on the drive to Hibbard House to be greeted by Rick who immediately made us feel very welcome. We had no idea the house was so beautiful inside, which has maintained many of the features of this grand old house. Our room was another great surprise with on open (working) fireplace. After eating at a local restaurant, We came back to find the fireplace in our room had been set up with fire wood and kindling ready for when we got back, and with plenty of spare chopped wood to see us through the evening.

We were amazed. As it was close to Halloween we were also fascinated to hear that the house is supposedly haunted by a couple of ghosts. One of them being the friendly housekeeper who likes to tidy the kitchen! My friend and I had a great evening sat in front of the glowing fire telling ghost stories and enjoying the very comfortable environment. Unfortunately/ or fortunately, we saw no ghost or ghools and had a perfectly restful nights sleep. I have never written a review for a B&B before but this place really was a little gem. The service was beyond expectation and the house is amazing. It is really well kept, (despite looking a little overgrown on the outside, though this added to the charm of the place) and breakfast was delicious too.

We were free to explore the house as we wanted and were welcomed to items in the fridge and cupboard should we get peckish. In fact, the overall experience could be described as like staying with a friend. I also later checked how much rooms were in other hotels with open fireplaces and original features and I was shocked at how expensive they were. At this place we got all of those things for just $75! Oh, I forgot to mention that there is a Jacuzzi in the barn, which was already heated and ready for us to use if we wanted. This place gets 5 stars 100%.
Out trip to the Hibbard House far exceeded our expectations. Upon entering this 1840's Federal Mansion we were struck by the historically vintage props, accessories and wall hangings. There was even a very old wood fired cook stove in the kitchen that looked like it came out of some colonial museum. The Inn Keeper - Rick who greeted us - was very personable, affable, and knowledgeable of local lore and attractions. Not only was the Hot Tub a bonus we were not expecting - but a full breakfast was prepared fully exceeding anything resembling a Continental Breakfast. We were given a peek at the upstairs renovations that were underway to create an old school recreation room. Blueprinted to eventually included ping pong, darts, billiards and much more. I can't wait. We are already making plans for our next visit to this charming gem tucked away in quaint Bath NH. PS. While you are there - the Old Brick Store and Covered Bridge are a must see!
We started off on our journey early Saturday morning. From the beautiful views to the quaint little shops. We arrived to our destination the Hibbard house. We were greeted by Rick, who is the innkeeper. He took our bags in, gave us a tour and made us feel at home. He shared story's of the many strange encounters w the spirits of the house. We laughed - We drank - We ate - We heard sounds we couldn't explain. The weather was beautiful in late November. The Fall foliage was at it's peak. We had fire in every room. It was a wonderful way to spend a weekend with 6 amazing women. I will never forget my weekend at the Hibbard House. Can't wait to go again!!
